So the Final Four starts Saturday at 6:07 ET. I’m sure many of you will be watching it. Great teams, should be exciting to watch. Enough about basketball, this is all baseball all the time. Let’s see what would happen if this Final Four of basketball was the four left in the College World Series.
If this were the case, we would have some major upsets going on. Michigan State is 8-17, Connecticut is 12-13, Villanova 14-12, and North Carolina 20-6. Yeah, North Carolina is feasible, the rest not so much. What would the match ups look like?
Michigan State vs. Connecticut
This is a tough one, earlier in the year the Spartans came up with a win over the Huskies with a 4-2 win. Both teams are in the cellar for their leagues. They need to thank their basketball programs for getting some pub here. We are writing this as if it was happening today, so we are going to go with Michigan State winning again. They just finished up putting a hurting on Central Michigan 20-3, they’re feeling pretty good. Connecticut lost two in a row.
North Carolina vs. Villanova
For an entertainment value, it would be nice to say Villanova would have a chance at upsetting UNC, but not going to happen. North Carolina is currently ranked 5th in the country by Baseball America. Earlier in the year Villanova got smoked by LSU who holds the 2 spot. Result, UNC smokes ‘Nova.
Championship Game
So we have UNC vs. Michigan State. Boring game, UNC wins.
Moral of the story
UNC has pretty good basketball and baseball programs.
